What is age relaxation?
Age relaxation means allowing some additional years in the maximum age limit to a few categories of students (SC, ST, OBC )/ex-servicemen and physically handicapped or Persons with disabilities while applying for Government Jobs.
This age relaxation is to help in the upliftment of economically weaker sections and below poverty line families in the society.
What is the maximum age limit to apply for government jobs in India?
After age relaxation maximum age limit to apply for most government jobs is 28–30 Years. However, there is age relaxation as per the criteria always specified in the official job notification.
There are different Different Indian government jobs that have different age limits. Maximum age limits varying from 24 to 40 years for the general category in various Indian government jobs, although SC, ST, and Ex-servicemen candidates can get an additional 5 years age relaxation, and OBC candidates can avail 3 years. Also as widows, divorced women, and judicially separated women can get additional age relaxation.
