Eligibility Criteria
Age:
Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years old as of 01.01.2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government Rules.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess a Degree in Engineering (Civil) from any University or be an Associated Member of the Institution of Engineers of India in Civil.
Place of Examination
The written examination will be held at Cuttack. It may also be held at Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Berhampur, and Sambalpur depending on the number of candidates applied for from the respective zones as decided by the Commission.
Candidates are required to mention their choice of examination zone in the online application form.
Method Of Selection
Method of Selection for Odisha PSC Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) Recruitment:
- Preliminary Examination: This stage involves an objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) paper comprising 100 questions, carrying 100 marks. The duration of the examination is one and a half hours. There is a negative marking of twenty-five percent for each wrong answer.
- Main Examination: The Main Examination consists of two papers, each with 150 questions carrying 300 marks. Both papers are of an objective type with multiple-choice questions. The duration of each paper is two and a half hours. Similar to the Preliminary Examination, there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.
- Paper I – General Studies: This paper covers basic sciences, general awareness, and knowledge, totaling 300 marks.
- Paper II – Specialized Paper: This paper focuses on the stream of Civil Engineering and also carries 300 marks.
- Viva-Voce Test: Candidates who qualify the Main Examination will be called for the Viva-Voce Test, which carries 75 marks.
- The Viva-Voce Test assesses the candidate’s communication skills, knowledge in the field, and overall suitability for the position.
- Selection List: Based on the marks secured in the Main Examination and Viva-Voce Test, the Commission will prepare a list of selected candidates arranged in order of merit. The number of selected candidates will be equal to the advertised vacancy.

Salary
Level-12 of pay matrix provided under Rule-3 of ORSP Rules-2017 corresponding to pre-revised scale of Pay Band-3 (Rs.15,600-Rs.39,100/-) carrying Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400/- with usual dearness allowance and other allowances.
