Eligibility Criteria To Apply OSSC CTSRE-2023
Qualifications
- Junior Mining Officer:
- Diploma in Mining Engineering from any recognized Polytechnic/Courses in India or an equivalent certificate from a recognized Polytechnic or Courses or Board.
- Junior MVI:
- Diploma in Automobile Engineering (3 years course) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (3 years course) awarded by the State Council of Technical Education or equivalent courses declared by the Central or State Government.
- Candidates with higher qualifications like Graduate Engineers in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University approved by AICTE.
- Junior Engineer (Mechanical):
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from any recognized Institution.
- Candidates with higher qualifications such as Degree/B-Tech/BE in Mechanical Engineering are also eligible, provided they possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Junior Engineer (Civil):
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from any recognized Institution.
- Must be computer literate.
- Tracer:
- Matric with NTC/NAC with two years of training in Civil Draughtsman ship and knowledge in Computer Application and Auto-CAD.
- Junior Engineer (Civil) under Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an Institution recognized by the Odisha Council of Technical Education & Vocational Training.
- Junior Engineer (Civil) under Engineer-in-chief, water resources, Odisha, Bhubaneswar:

Plan and Pattern of Examination
There are three stages of Examination for Odisha Combined Technical Services Recruitment Examination (CTSRE)-2023:
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
- Type: Objective, multiple choice questions (MCQ)
- Number of Papers: One
- Total Marks: 150
- Duration: 150 minutes (2.5 hours)
- Subjects:
- General Awareness: 50 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning: 50 marks
- Technical Ability: 50 marks
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
- Qualifying Marks: Commission will fix minimum qualifying marks based on category (UR, SC, ST, SEBC etc.)
- Shortlisting: Candidates who score minimum qualifying marks will be shortlisted for Main Written Examination.
Stage 2: Main Written Examination
- Type: Subjective
- Number of Papers: One (Technical Paper)
- Total Marks: 200
- Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
- Technical Paper: Different papers will be set for different posts based on their specific technical requirements.
- Qualifying Marks: Commission will fix minimum qualifying marks for different services/posts and categories.
- Shortlisting: Candidates numbering 1.5 times of advertised vacancies will be shortlisted for Certificate Verification based on their marks in the Technical Paper.
Stage 3: Certificate Verification
- Verification of all original documents submitted by the candidate.
- Candidature will be cancelled if absent for certificate verification.
